Last week, Samsung released the much-awaited One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The update brought plenty of AI-powered features to Samsung's foldable phones. However, it also seems to have introduced a few issues, such as shorter battery life.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 facing higher battery drain with One UI 6.1
Multiple Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 users have reported that their phones started experiencing higher battery drain after installing the One UI 6.1 update. As a result, the foldable phones do not last as long as they used to before the update was released. Even our Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 units suffer from the same issue.
Samsung hasn't acknowledged this issue publicly yet, but it might be aware of it, as many people have started complaining about it on social media websites and Samsung's Community Forum. Such issues generally happen after a major update is released, and Samsung usually fixes them with subsequent updates. However, Samsung hasn't confirmed anything about this yet.
You can watch all the AI and non-AI features that One UI 6.1 brings to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in our in-depth video above. Hopefully, Samsung will solve the high battery drain issue on those phones with the next software update.
