One UI 6.1 update could go live on more Galaxy phones next week

One UI 6.1 debuted with the Galaxy S24 series, but in late March, the update landed on several 2023 phones OTA (over-the-air). Now, with those priority phones out of the way, Samsung has turned its attention to bringing One UI 6.1 on even more devices, including 2022 flagship phones and the mid-range Galaxy A54 from last year.

Although these phones haven't received One UI 6.1 yet, they might soon. Test One UI 6.1 firmware has reportedly been spotted on Samsung's servers for a handful of older phones, and if you're reading this, chances are you might get One UI 6.1 on your device before the end of April.

According to these findings (via @tarunvats33), test One UI 6.1 firmware exists in Samsung's development labs for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and the Galaxy Z Flip 4, all of which were released in 2022. In addition, the Galaxy A54, which is a mid-range phone from 2023, is on the list.

When and what can you expect from One UI 6.1

Samsung's test servers don't contain information about when the public One UI 6.1 update might be released for the Galaxy S22 series, Z4 foldables, and the Galaxy A54. However, the source claims the One UI 6.1 update should go live next week in regions including Asia, Europe, India, and Korea.

As to what the One UI 6.1 update will bring, it is public knowledge that Samsung hasn't developed Galaxy AI features for either of these phones. The company only extended its efforts to bring Galaxy AI retroactively to 2023 high-end phones.

There is a slight possibility that some Galaxy AI features will be released for the Galaxy Z4 and S22 lineups at a later date. However, Galaxy AI for the Galaxy A54 is out of the question, considering that it is a mid-range phone and even the newer Galaxy A55 didn't get the AI treatment.

Google-made and third-party alternatives to some Galaxy AI features exist. Your mileage might vary, but you can always test them on your non-Galaxy AI phone.
