Last week, Samsung held the Welcome to Bespoke AI event in three places, New York City, Paris, and Seoul where it launched the new lineup of Bespoke AI home appliances. However, at the event in Paris, the company also launched a non-Bespoke product, the RB6000D, a refrigerator with a bottom-mounted freezer, and it set a new milestone for Samsung.
Samsung launches its first “A” energy efficiency rating bottom-mounted freezer refrigerator
According to Samsung, the RB6000D is the company’s first Extra Wide Bottom Freezer series refrigerator to receive an “A” rating for energy efficiency from the European Union (EU). The brand says that the new model decreases energy consumption by 55.9% compared to conventional models and that the EU has said that the refrigerator’s new AI Inverter Compressor “is a key part to achieve an A grade.”
The new AI Inverter Compressor’s rotating parts have a larger radius, which “enables its inertia to be higher than the conventional compressor by 4.1 times.” “It means that the compressor can keep the power longer, so it uses less energy while keeping the temperature in the fridge moderate,” the company further adds. In addition to that, it has an energy-saving mode, which can reduce energy use by up to 15%.
There’s SmartThings AI Energy Mode onboard that “allows users to easily check daily, weekly, and monthly power consumption, and it even estimates monthly electric bills.” If the usage exceeds the set limits, it can “also proactively save energy.” Plus, “it can optimize the compressor speed and defrost cycle frequency, based on usage and surroundings, ensuring that users can enjoy fresher food items for longer.”
Apart from energy-saving and energy-monitoring features, the RB6000D has many other features, including SpaceMax, which uses thin walls and efficient insulation to offer high storage volume. The brand says the new model is also quieter by up to 5 times than a conventional model.
