A few days ago, Samsung released the April 2024 security update to the Galaxy S21 series. However, it was limited to European countries. The South Korean firm has now expanded the availability of the new security update to the Galaxy S21 lineup in the USA.
Factory-unlocked Galaxy S21 gets April 2024 update in USA
In the US, the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting the April 2024 security update. It comes with firmware version G99xU1UESAFXD1. It fixes a few dozen security shortcomings discovered in the previous software versions.
Firmware versions for all Galaxy S21 models are listed below:
- Galaxy S21: G991U1UESAFXD1
- Galaxy S21+: G996U1UESAFXD1
- Galaxy S21 Ultra: G998U1UESAFXD1
If you have a Galaxy S21 series phone and live in the US, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
The next software update for the Galaxy S21 series will be One UI 6.1. It will include several features that you can see in our in-depth video below. However, the update will likely not include most of the AI features that debuted with the Galaxy S24.
