Samsung rolled out the April 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra right at the start of the month. In fact, these were the first tablets from the company to get the security update as they are the brand’s flagship tablets. However, back then, the company had released the security update only in Korea. Fortunately, the brand is now expanding it to other regions.

Samsung has started rolling out the April 2024 security patch to the international variants of the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra, which carry model numbers SM-X916B, SM-816B, and SM-X916B respectively, in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The new firmware has version XX16BXXS2BXD2. The latest security update that it brings, fixes a total of 29 security issues.

If you have a Galaxy Tab S9 series device and live in these regions, your tablet should automatically notify you about the update. If it hasn’t, you can check for the new firmware manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the firmware from our database and install it manually using a Windows desktop or laptop and Odin.

We expect Samsung to make the latest security update available in the United States in the next couple of weeks. On a related note, last month, Samsung rolled out One UI 6.1 to the Galaxy Tab S9 series among other devices. It brings many new and useful features, including Galaxy AI. If you haven’t already explored all the new features, you can check them out in our video below.
