Samsung Wallet to work as identity verification for students of Woori Bank's universities
Samsung has partnered with Woori Bank to make Samsung Wallet a mobile ID verification tool for students at the latter's universities. This deal was signed yesterday at Woori Bank’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Woori Bank's universities include POSTECH, Seoul National University, Sogang University, and Sungkyunkwan University.
Identity verification works so that a physical ID can be replaced by a mobile ID on Samsung Wallet. The feature can be used in university cafeterias, classrooms, and libraries. Activating this feature is quite simple. Students need to register Woori Bank's check card linked to their student ID in Samsung Wallet, and the student ID will be added.
Moreover, Samsung Electronics and Woori Bank. have decided to continue their cooperation in developing financial products linked to digital wallet services and developing more financial services.
A Samsung Electronics official said, “We are pleased to be able to provide the best mobile wallet experience with Woori Bank. We will work closely with Woori Bank in the future to expand the mobile payment ecosystem and maximize the usability of Samsung Wallet.”
