Yesterday, Samsung released a software update to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy A54 in Europe which brought improvements to the support for the 4G Time Division Duplexing (TDD) network on these devices. Well, the company is now rolling out the same update to the Galaxy A55.
Samsung has released a new software update to the international variant of the Galaxy A55, which carries the model number SM-A556B, in Europe. The update’s changelog says “Regional LTE TDD band support has been updated.” Currently, there’s no information on how it benefits the users but we are assuming that it improves the device’s support for the 4G TDD network. Samsung also notes that “models purchased in Germany cannot receive signals in LTE TDD bands in the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic.”
The latest software update changes the firmware version of the Galaxy A55 to A556BXXU1AXC4. If you have the Galaxy A55 and you live in Europe, your phone should automatically notify you about the update. If it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
