Samsung has released details about the May 2024 security patch. In the coming weeks, this security update will be released to millions of eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets, and the high-end phones will receive it first.
May 2024 security patch fixes 45 vulnerabilities in Galaxy phones and tablets
According to Samsung's security bulletin board, its May 2024 security patch includes fixes for 58 security vulnerabilities discovered in previous software versions. Of these fixes, 33 have been provided by Google, and they are applicable to all devices running Android.
Three of those 33 vulnerabilities have been termed ‘Critical,' while 26 are tagged as ‘High' in severity. One vulnerability is termed ‘Moderate,' while two patches are for bugs that do not apply to Galaxy devices. One fix is for a bug Samsung fixed in the previous security update.

25 security vulnerabilities were found in Galaxy devices, and the new update fixes them. One is considered ‘High' in severity, while 11 are termed ‘Moderate.' The rest have not been detailed.
Some include a bug that allows an attacker to bypass the phone activation process, while others allow access to the Secure Folder without proper authentication.
