Samsung kicked off the One UI 6.1 rollout for mid-range Galaxy devices on May 13 by releasing the update for the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34. Now, Samsung is bringing One UI 6.1 to two mid-range tablets: the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+.
Korea is the first market where the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ are getting One UI 6.1, similar to most other devices that have been updated over the past few days, and it remains to be seen how long it will take for the update to roll out in other countries.
One UI 6.1 seems to be available for both the Wi-Fi and cellular variants of the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ in Korea. If you own either Fan Edition model, you can download the One UI 6.1 update from the tablet's Settings » Software update » Download and install menu. Alternatively, download the latest firmware from our archives and use a Windows PC to install it on your tablet.
Being mid-range devices, both tablets miss out on Galaxy AI. The changelog does mention the word AI, as you can see in the screenshot below, but that's just Samsung labelling some basic photo and video features of One UI 6.1 as AI for mid-range devices. Those features do use some form of artificial intelligence/machine learning, but they aren't part of the Galaxy AI experience, which includes features that are far more advanced.
Thanks for the tip, 정성현!
