All Samsung flagship phones that launched in 2021 and 2022 are getting One UI 6.1 in Canada. The update is out for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
A lot of the information on One UI 6.1's release date was revealed to us by Canadian carriers before Samsung made official announcements, and owners of the aforementioned phones can now download the update in the country.
All eligible flagship phones have now received One UI 6.1 in Canada
One UI 6.1 comes with a long list of changes for older Galaxy flagships. Devices launched in 2022 also receive most Galaxy AI features that Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra owners have been enjoying since the start of this year, including Interpreter, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Generative Wallpapers, Generative Edit, and Note Assist. 2021 flagships, on the other hand, get Circle to Searh as the only major AI feature.
If you own one of the phones listed above, you can head into its Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install to download the update. Keep in mind that the update may not be instantly available for you (especially if you own the Galaxy S21's FE variant), and if that's the case, just check again a little later.
We also recommend taking some precautions to ensure you don't lose data should the update cause any issues with unlocking the device, which Galaxy S22 owners faced in Korea when One UI 6.1 was first released. The chances of that happening again are slim as Samsung has addressed the issues, but it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the data you have on your smartphone.
