Samsung appears to be on a mission to quickly bring the latest security update to all Galaxy devices that have been updated with One UI 6.1 in the last month and a half.
Smartphones like the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 have received the May 2024 security update in the last couple of days, and now, the flagship Galaxy Tab S9 tablet lineup is getting the update as well.
European users are once again the first to get to make the jump to the latest security patch, though a release in other markets shouldn't be too far behind. The initial relase of the update is limited to the cellular variants, but we expect there to be only a short wait for owners of the Wi-Fi-only variants.
The May update for the Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra can be identified by a build number ending with the characters BXE3. This update brings only security enhancements to the flagship tablets, so don't expect fixes for any bugs you might be facing on One UI 6.1.
To download the update, open your tablet's Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. That's the direct method – alternatively, you can update your tablet by downloading the latest firmware from our firmware library and installing it using a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
