You have heard of Thunderbolt plenty of times on laptops and PCs. But how much do you utilize it other than connecting your laptop to a monitor or charging it at full speed? Most people don't, even though it can do much more.

So, Intel has made a new app that helps you do more with Thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt Share eases file sharing and screen mirroring on Windows

Intel Thunderbolt Share App

Thunderbolt Share is Intel's new app for devices with a Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 port and Microsoft's Windows OS. This app allows you to share the screen smoothly, transfer files faster, and improve productivity.

  1. Screen sharing will happen smoothly, and the keyboard and mouse can be controlled between connected PCs.
  2. You can drag and drop large files from one PC to another. You can also sync folders or migrate data from an old laptop to a newer one.
  3. You can connect PCs directly or via a Thunderbolt dock or monitor.
  4. It offers a secure connection between two PCs without affecting Wi-Fi. It doesn't need a cloud network or an Ethernet connection.

All these features will be available on all Galaxy Book laptops with a Thunderbolt 4 port. Below, you can watch our hands-on video of the Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra, all of which feature a Thunderbolt 4 port.

Intel's Thunderbolt Share app will be available in the second half of 2024 and supported accessories with Thunderbolt connectivity will also be released around the same time.

While Galaxy Books already work wirelessly with Galaxy phones, tablets, and laptops, the Thunderbolt Share app will make things smoother and more reliable for those requiring even more reliability. This app also allows Galaxy Books and PCs with Thunderbolt 4 ports to work with non-Samsung devices.
