Galaxy Xcover 5 gets an update with camera bug fix

A new update is now available for the Galaxy Xcover 5 that fixes a camera bug introduced by the phone's Android 14 update. This bug disabled the camera's autofocus capability, making it unusable in most situations, but to Samsung's credit, the company has delivered the fix as quickly as one could have hoped.

The new update sports the build number G525FXXUADXE1 and is available in various European countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium. Users of the phone who have installed the update have confirmed that the camera autofocus now works as intended.

For those wondering, this update does not bring One UI 6.1 to the Galaxy Xcover 5. The rugged handset received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update considerably later than all other Galaxy smartphones, and we can expect Samsung to take its sweet time in updating the phone to One UI 6.1 as well.

To download the update that fixes the camera bug on your Xcover 5, head into the phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap Download and install. Alternatively, grab the latest firmware from our archives and upgrade your phone's software manually using a Windows computer and a USB cable.
