Earlier today, tipster Evleaks revealed a list of notable products Samsung will be unveiling at its next Galaxy Unpacked event. As we said in our exclusive report, that event will be held in Paris, France, possibly on July 10, and will introduce us to everything from foldable phones, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds to the company's first smart ring.
However, one device's absence on Evleaks' list was pretty conspicious: it doesn't say anything about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. But does that mean there is no Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra coming this year?
We don't think so. The more likely reason is that Evleaks' list only talks about devices that will be coming to the USA, and that's something that may not be true for Samsung's first Ultra-branded foldable.
After several rumors suggesting the existence of a higher-end Galaxy Z Fold 6 model, it was confirmed a few weeks back that Samsung is indeed preparing such a device and could launch it as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. It was also revealed that the device is only in development for the Korean market, and it appears that is still the case.
It's not just US consumers who may not get to buy a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra
From what we have heard, there are still no signs of a US or international variant of the Fold 6 Ultra. Usually, US and international variants of new and unreleased flagship smartphones surface well before their Korean variants, suggesting that Samsung is not taking a traditional approach with this phone.
In fact, Samsung seems to be doing everything it can to keep information on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra tightly under wraps, just like it made sure no one knew what the first Galaxy Fold looked like before the device was ready for an official announcement. We have no solid details on the phone, including how the Ultra model will differ from the standard model.
Bigger screens, better cameras, and a larger battery are usually how Samsung distinguishes its Galaxy S Ultra smartphones from their base and Plus models, and we can assume the Galaxy Z Fold 6 vs Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra story will be something similar.
But, again, it's all unconfirmed at this time, and we will have to wait for some concrete information before we can figure out what Samsung has in store for consumers who have been demanding a truly premium Galaxy foldable.
