Samsung TV Plus is one of the most value-for-money services the company offers in select regions for devices like smart TVs, monitors, and Family Hub refrigerators. Sadly, for some Samsung TV Plus users in the USA, the service will be shutting down soon.
A few Family Hub fridge owners have brought an issue to our attention through the official Samsung Community forums in the USA. These users have recently been notified that Samsung TV Plus will no longer be available in their region.
More specifically, a Samsung notification (via Community user Ianjamesmorton) says that a Family Hub fridge software update is scheduled for June 2024. Once this summer update rolls out, “Samsung TV Plus will only be available within Mexican territories.”
No additional information is provided, but we're guessing this new rule will only apply to Family Hub refrigerators rather than Samsung smart TVs and monitors.
In addition, it's unclear if this restriction to Samsung TV Plus affects every Family Hub refrigerator, including the new Bespoke AI series for 2024, or if the service will only be restricted on older Family Hub models.
Samsung TV Plus is a very popular service, and we assume that the Korean tech company would make a more formal announcement if it had any plans to shut TV Plus down across the USA on every device, including smart TVs. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted if we find out more.
For now, if you have a Family Hub refrigerator, you may want to check if Samsung has sent you any notifications about the TV Plus service's upcoming restrictions in your region.
