The month is ending with a bang for those who own a Galaxy A72. Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to the A-series phone. One UI 6.1 has now been released for every Galaxy A7x phone that is eligible for the update.
Galaxy A72 gets its final feature update
For the Galaxy A72, One UI 6.1 will be the final feature/OS update. Samsung will only provide security updates for the phone going forward. It could bring some changes from One UI 6.1.1 to the A72 later this year, but chances are slim as mid-year One UI version updates focus on Samsung’s tablets and foldable smartphones.
The first market to get the Galaxy A72 One UI 6.1 update is Russia. We will have to wait and see if more countries will get the update on the same day. It's likely that users in other countries will have to wait for a few days and will get the update sometime in early June.
For details on all that is new in One UI 6.1, check out the full changelog for Samsung's mid-range Galaxy smartphones. Most of what is mentioned in the changelog should be available on the Galaxy A72. Galaxy AI is not part of the package, however, as you may already know.
The One UI 6.1 update sports the build number A725FXXU7FXE1. You can download it from the phone's Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. You can also download Galaxy A72 firmware from our firmware archive and install it on the phone via a Windows computer and a USB connection as an alternative way to upgrade to One UI 6.1.
