Yesterday, Samsung started rolling out the June 2024 security update to the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S23 in the USA. Today, the company has released the Galaxy S23's June 2024 security update for factory-unlocked units in the country.

The new software update currently rolling out to factory-unlocked Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra units includes the June 2024 security patch. The update comes bearing firmware version S91xU1UES3CXE3 and is available on all carrier networks in the USA. It fixes around four dozen security loopholes discovered in the previous software.
This new update doesn't improve performance on the devices. However, it is relatively small in download size, so you can download it even via the cellular network.

How to install the June 2024 security update on your Galaxy S23?
If you have a Galaxy S23 series device (SM-S911U1, SM-S916U1, or SM-S918U1) in the USA, you can now install the new update on your device. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install.
You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need access to a Windows PC and the Odin tool for that process. You should also back up your data before initiating the manual firmware flashing process.
Samsung revealed the details about the June 2024 security update a few days ago and has already released it to several high-end devices. However, the update has not been released in all regions yet, and it could be expanded to more models and regions by the end of this month.
The Galaxy S23 series was launched early last year and received huge success. It was launched with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software pre-installed. Late last year, it received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. After the launch of the Galaxy S24, Samsung released the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S23 series, bringing Galaxy AI and other new One UI features.
Samsung will release three more major Android OS and One UI updates to the Galaxy S23 series.
