The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the best-selling foldable smartphone globally, and it's not without its merits. It is among the world's first water-resistant foldable smartphones, and it is priced below the $1,000 mark. Now, the influential TIME Magazine has named the Galaxy Z Flip 3 one of the best inventions of this year.
Samsung's latest clamshell-style foldable smartphone has found a spot in TIME Magazine's ‘The Best Inventions of 2021' list. The publication praised the Galaxy Z Flip 3's vibrant 6.7-inch OLED 120Hz display, and the larger (1.98-inch) cover display for viewing notifications. It also praised Samsung for bringing down the price of foldable smartphones below the psychological $1,000 mark.
TIME said, “the $999 price tag, making it (Galaxy Z Flip 3) the first mainstream phone with a foldable display that's priced below $1,000, putting it in direct competition with high-end iPhone models.”
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the most affordable foldable smartphone of 2021. It features the Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and an IPX8 rating for dust and water resistance. The device runs the latest version of Android and has various optimizations for its foldable form factor. It features a 10MP selfie camera and a 12MP+12MP dual-camera on the rear. It also features stereo speakers, wireless charging, and a fingerprint reader.
The South Korean firm is currently three generations ahead of most rival smartphone OEMs in the foldable smartphone segment. However, it will face some competition from Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi in 2022.
