The Galaxy Z Flip 5G packed some of the most cutting-edge technology available on the market. However, its unique form factor has allowed it to double up as more than a phone: it's also a fashion accessory. The Z Flip's successor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, sold massively in South Korea because of this, and now, Samsung wants to cash in on the “Galaxy Z Flip as a fashion statement” fad.
Emmy-nominated Emily in Paris will show the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the hands of Sylvie Grateau, a character in the show portrayed by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who happens to be the ambassador for Samsung. The phone will serve as her daily driver throughout the second season and get a significant amount of airtime.
TikTok users in the U.K, France, Germany, Italy and Spain will be able to replace the Emily in Paris lead actor via a filter. The animation involves a Galaxy Z Flip 5G unfolding and putting the user at the center of the poster. It will be available for users to try out on December 28, though one can't help but wonder why Samsung chose a previous-generation foldable for the campaign at a time when the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has been out and about for a while.
Samsung has formed a strategic partnership to showcase other products on the TV show as well. High-end products such as the Galaxy Watch 3 (not the Watch 4), The Serif/The Sero smart TVs, and The Bespoke series of smart refrigerators will make multiple appearances throughout the duration of the second season.
