The Galaxy S22 may be delayed from its early February debut

Samsung may end up delaying the announcement and release of the Galaxy S22 series, according to the latest rumor out of Korea. Supply chain issues have reportedly resulted in Samsung cancelling the February 8 launch and February 18 release date for its next flagship, but it could now hit retail shelves in late February or even early March.

The company had already delayed the launch of its Galaxy S22 series to make way for the Galaxy S21 FE that's expected to arrive in January 2022. It appears that circumstances may now be forcing the company to delay the launch even further.

Galaxy S22 launch may be delayed due to supply chain issues

This isn't an ideal situation for Samsung. The Galaxy S22 lineup is the company's next flagship series. These will be the first devices to set the tone for 2022. Samsung needs them to do a good job, particularly the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has essentially absorbed the entire Galaxy Note lineup.

The latest rumor out of South Korea is a bit concerning. It claims that the decision has been made to delay the launch of the Galaxy S22 series. Parts and related supply chain issues are said to be the culprit. It's unclear whether this has anything to do with the prevailing chip shortage which was also one of the reasons why the Galaxy Note 21 series was cancelled.

Samsung has obviously confirmed nothing about its plans for the Galaxy S22 series so far. The company is going to keep mum on its plans until next year at the very least. One can only hope that there's little truth to these rumors and that we're treated to the Galaxy S22 series sooner rather than later.
