Samsung has been making smartwatches for many years now. Usually, the company launches a smartwatch in two sizes. Take the brand’s current flagship smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, for example. It is available in two sizes, 43mm and 47mm.
Whereas, Google has been making smartwatches for only two years now. The brand’s first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, came in only one size: 41mm. The company’s second and latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 2, is also available in only one size: 41mm.
It means that Pixel Watch models haven’t been able to compete with Samsung’s larger smartwatches. Well, that’s going to change soon.
The story continues after the video…
Reportedly, Google’s next smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3, will be available in two sizes. The smaller model will have a 41mm dial size and will be called the Pixel Watch 3. Whereas, the larger model will have a 45mm dial size and will be called the Pixel Watch 3 XL. It means that Google will soon have a competitor for larger Galaxy Watch models.
Pixel Watch 3 XL will go up against Galaxy Watch 7
Interestingly, the renders of the larger model have popped up online. These renders reveal that the Pixel Watch 3 XL will measure 45mm x 45mm x 13.89mm. In comparison, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic measures 46.5 x 46.5 x 10.9mm. So, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is slimmer than the Pixel Watch 3 XL. The renders also show that Google’s upcoming 45mm smartwatch will have the same design as the Pixel Watch 2.
Google will launch its next lineup of smartwatches in October. That means the Pixel Watch 3 XL will go up against the upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The former will come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, and the latter will come in only one size, 47mm. Samsung will launch the two smartwatches at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 10 July 2024, where it is going to launch a bunch of other products.
