After releasing the One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung has finally released the stable Android 12 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The second-generation foldable smartphone from the company has started getting the stable One UI 4.0 update in European countries.
The new software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with firmware version F916BXXS2FULE. It includes the December 2021 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The new update could also roll out in countries outside of Europe over the next few days.
The One UI 4.0 update is based on Android 12. It brings a revamped UI design with Material You-style Color Palette feature that picks up UI accent colors from the chosen wallpaper. It also includes a new widget picker design, newer widgets, more lock screen widgets, and improved stock apps.
One UI 4.0 also features improved privacy and security. It shows microphone and camera usage privacy indicators. You can quickly cut off camera and microphone access across the system using new quick setting toggles. It also shows which apps have recently copied data from your clipboard.
If you are a Galaxy Z Fold 2 user in Europe, you can check for the new update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also shortly find the firmware file in our firmware database if you are interested in flashing it manually.
