Samsung is expected to bring back 45W charging with the Galaxy S22 series. If you can remember, the Galaxy Note 10+ was Samsung's first smartphone to feature 45W fast charging, but it wasn't significantly faster than the company's regular 25W charger. With the Galaxy S22 series, the 45W charger's speed has reportedly been improved.
Ahead of Galaxy S22's launch, Samsung's upcoming 45W charger has been leaked. Leakster Roland Quandt has published the image of the 45W fast charger's box and model number (EP-T4510). The box shows the charger in its black avatar and the bundled USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable that's 1.8m long. We expect the charger to work on the USB PD 3.0 protocol with PPS (Programmable Power Supply).
It is rumored that the EP-T4510 45W charger can charge the Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra's battery from 0-70% in just 30 minutes. However, we can only be sure about this once Samsung makes these figures official.
Competitors have left Samsung behind in the charging speed race, and some of them offer as high as 120W fast charging with their proprietary charging technologies. Most Chinese brands even offer those ultra-fast chargers inside the box with their phones. On the other hand, Samsung has stopped bundling chargers with its high-end phones.
