Samsung unveiled its new TV lineup at CES 2022, including QLED lifestyle TVs, Neo QLED TVs, and MicroLED TVs. Most of these TVs have received international certifications for color accuracy. The new lifestyle TVs also received certificates for eye safety features.

2022 versions of The Frame, The Serif, and The Sero TVs received the ‘Eye Care' certification from German's VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker). The QLED TVs were evaluated for safety, gentleness to the eyes, and flicker levels (because flicker can cause eye fatigue and headache). These TVs have been assessed as safe from blue light emissions and melatonin inhibition levels based on the standards set by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).

The South Korean firm's lifestyle TVs were tested for color accuracy and picture uniformity. They were also verified as ‘Glare Free' by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) after testing them against standards set by CIE (Commission Internationale de l'éclairage). The Frame (2022), The Serif (2022), and The Sero (2022) have matte displays to tone down light glare and fingerprints. The TVs were tested under 70 nits (dim work area) and 300 nits (bright rooms).

Samsung's new TVs and monitors also received the world's first ‘Pantone Validated' certification. Pantone is a world-famous brand that works on colors and color grading, and it developed the Pantone Matching System (PMS). The monitors and TVs accurately reproduced 2,030 Pantone colors and newly added 110 skin tone shades.

Seokwoo Yong, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “As TVs become more of an entertainment hub in the home, there's an increased demand for screens with top-tier picture quality that minimize eye strain. This recognition from leading global institutes validates our technology that delivers best-in-class images along with the most comfortable watching experience.
