Samsung has started rolling out the January 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE in various markets. The update is now available for the Exynos 990 and Snapdragon 865 variants of the Galaxy S20 FE (4G). The Galaxy S20 FE 5G had already received the new security patch a couple of weeks ago.
The latest software update for the Exynos 990 version of the Galaxy S20 FE bears firmware version G780FXXS8DVA1. It includes the January 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities. The new update is currently available in the following countries:
- Afghanistan
- Iraq
- Israel
- Kenya
- Lebanon
- Libya
- Malaysia
- Morocco
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Philippines
- Saudi Arabia
- South Africa
- Thailand
- Tunisia
- Turkey
- UAE
- Vietnam
The Snapdragon 865 version of the Galaxy S20 FE (4G) is getting updated with firmware version G780GXXS3BVA5. The new update is available in Afghanistan, Brazil, Egypt, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, and the UAE.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
