Galaxy Unpacked 2022 finally went live today, and we had an opportunity to spend a bit of one-on-one time with the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup, so make sure to check our hands-on videos below for a closer look at the new flagships.

As you probably know by now, the Galaxy Tab S8 series consists of three models: a base, a Plus, and an Ultra variant. This is the first tablet series from Samsung to include an Ultra-branded model, and it shows.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has a large display surrounded by very thin bezels, and unlike the other two models, it has a display notch for its exclusive dual selfie camera combo.

Toughest and best-looking Galaxy tablets to date

The build quality on this new generation of tablets is exceptional. The feel of the armor aluminum frame may not translate well on video, but Samsung claims that this new material makes the Tab S8 series 40% less prone to bending than the Galaxy Tab S7.

All three models have an aluminum construction with flat edges and a flat back panel, complete with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the display. A magnetized strip for the S Pen runs across the back of each tablet, and speaking of accessories, pre-order customers will get a Samsung Keyboard Slip or Keyboard Cover (for the Tab S8 Ultra) for free.

The S Pen experience is stellar, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate and the solid software suite. The cameras were also improved, though it's obvious that Samsung paid a lot more attention to the Ultra model. It has a dual selfie camera system inside the display notch, as you can see in the video below.

Performance is, of course, top-notch, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The Gen 1 is the latest solution from Qualcomm, and you'll find it only inside the latest flagship devices. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra appears to be gunning for the lightweight notebook market, and it can be purchased with up to a whopping 16GB of RAM and 512GB of built-in expandable storage.

Check our Galaxy Tab S8 hands-on videos below for a closer look at the new tablets, their detailed specifications, as well as prices, and stay tuned for more Unpacked 2022 news.
