Samsung has started rolling out new security updates to the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy S21 series. The smartphones are now getting the February 2022 security patch in various regions.
The new update for the Galaxy Z Flip is available in over 50 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia. It comes with firmware version F700FXXS8FVA2 and fixes many privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting new updates with firmware version G99xBXXS4BVA8. However, the updates have been released only in Egypt and Nigeria, and we expect the rollout to expand to more countries over the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy S21 series or Galaxy Z Flip user in the respective countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
According to Samsung's documentation, the February 2022 security patch fixes over 60 vulnerabilities. The new updates could also include device stability improvements and general bug fixes.
