Galaxy S22 prices across most (major) countries have been out and about for a while. However, the world's second-largest smartphone market, India, has received no such treatment. That is all set to change tomorrow with Samsung India's dedicated event for Samsung enthusiasts based in the subcontinent.
The official Samsung India Twitter handle has announced that it will tell us everything we need to know about the Galaxy S22 price, availability and pre-order offers (if any) on 17 February 2022 at 12.30 PM. However, we already have a rough idea about how much the three smartphones could cost in India thanks to an earlier leak.
The entry-level Galaxy S22 will supposedly retail at INR 69,900 ($926) and the maxed-out Galaxy S22 Ultra at INR 1,09,900 ($1,456). Information about the Galaxy S22+ is scarce, but it will likely cost around INR 89,990 ($1,198) if previous launch prices are anything to go by.
Unlike the US and Europe, where one gets exciting perks like a free memory upgrade and hefty trade-in discounts, Samsung India offers paltry pre-order bonuses, which often sum up to little more than a 50% discount on a pair of earbuds/wearable. Whether or not the situation will be any better with the Galaxy S22 series remains to be seen
To make matters worse, Indians pay a lot more than their American/European counterparts for the same smartphone. At the very least, Indian Galaxy S22 variants will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC this time, something that Indians have been demanding for quite some time now.
