In simpler times, the Galaxy A70 served as a perfect mid-range smartphone for those with little extra cash to spare. However, it is the current year and time for an upgrade. Should you pick up the shiny new Galaxy A73? Let's take a look into what the Galaxy A73 has to offer.
Galaxy A73 vs Galaxy A70: Display and design
Right off the bat, the Galaxy A73 packs a vastly superior 120 Hz AMOLED panel compared to the Galaxy A70‘s 60 Hz version. On top of that, you get a relatively new design, complete with Galaxy S22-like camera module and a hold-punch selfie camera. Additionally, the Galaxy A73 is IP67 water and dust resistant but lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

It goes without saying that the Galaxy A73's Snapdragon 778G will perform faster than the Galaxy A70's ageing Snapdragon 675. On top of a newer SoC, one also gets 5G connectivity, faster Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a marginally larger 5,000 mAh battery. Lastly, the Galaxy A70 is nearing the end of its software support window, so an upgrade to the One UI 4.1 toting Galaxy A73 would be recommended, if possible.

One of the largest overall upgrades offered by the Galaxy A73 is its 108 MP primary camera sensor, which is accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 5 MP macro/depth sensors. Interestingly enough, Samsung has stuck with the same 32 MP selfie camera across three generations. Nonetheless, the Galaxy A73 has vastly better imaging capabilities compared to the Galaxy A70.
While the Galaxy A73 undoubtedly trounces the Galaxy A70 in every regard, owners of the latter could also consider the Galaxy S21 FE as an alternative.
