Mere hours have passed since Samsung released the March 2022 security patch for the original Galaxy Z Flip, but the company has another firmware update rolling out right now. It's the anticipated One UI 4.1 update, and it's available for both the Galaxy Z Flip and the Z Flip 5G.
The caveat is that, as of this writing, the new firmware appears to be available only in Italy and Switzerland for the LTE and 5G models, respectively. Look for firmware numbers F700FXXU8GVC2 and F707BXXU6GVC2.
What can you expect from One UI 4.1 on the Z Flip and Z Flip 5G?
Among various UI improvements and additional “Material You” personalization options, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G borrows new camera features from the Galaxy S22 series through One UI 4.1, including Night portrait functions, Pet recognition, and Light position editing.
The same features should also be available for the Galaxy Z Flip (LTE), though it's worth noting that the Community Post from a few days back didn't mention this model.
You can download the new firmware from our website and install it manually — in regions where it's available. You can also wait for the update notification from Samsung to arrive on your phone or try to trigger the update from the “Software update” option in your Settings app.
