Last week, Samsung had released the One UI 4.1 update to the Korean and US carrier versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Now, the company has released the update to the carrier-unlocked variants of those smartphones in the US.
The new update for the carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xU1UEU2FVC5. It brings One UI 4.1 features along with the March 2022 security patch to the devices. The update is currently rolling out on Sprint and T-Mobile networks in the US. More carriers will get the update within the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone user on any of the carrier networks mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra One UI 4.1 features
The One UI 4.1 update brings dozens of new features to the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It includes Google Duo Live Sharing, Smart Widgets, improved Color Palette, Reflection Eraser, Shadow Eraser, image remastering tools, and the ability to add portrait effects to any image with a person in it. You can even readjust lighting in portrait images.
Samsung Health offers deeper insights into your fitness metrics and offers you tips to reach your health and fitness goals. Smart Switch is now more customizable while importing data from an older phone. Quick Share offers the ability to share Wi-Fi network credentials and offers edit history for shared images and videos.
SmartThings Find can now share items with your friends and family so that you can find lost things together. The camera offers better portrait images in low-light conditions. AR Zone offers you the ability to add GIFs from Tenor to AR Emojis and the option to add background colors in mask mode. You can even convert real-world objects into 3D stickers.
Samsung Keyboard offers Grammarly-powered language suggestions, more layouts, and more input methods. You can quickly add things from Gallery and Samsung Internet apps to Samsung Notes. You can add emojis to calendar entries and adjust the sound balance for all audio output devices. GOS (Game Optimization Service) can be turned off with the One UI 4.1 update.
