Samsung is rolling out a massive firmware update for the Galaxy S22 series. It's seemingly targeting the European models powered by the Exynos 2200 SoC, which hopefully means that it addresses the performance and stability issues plaguing these Galaxy S22 variants. The new firmware also comes with a brand-new security patch.
The latest update carries firmware version S90xBXXU1AVCJ, and it weighs roughly 1.4GB. It's a big update, even for one that introduces a new security patch, i.e. the April 2022 security patch, the latter of which has yet to be officially detailed.
In fact, the changelog for this new firmware update (with or without the new security patch) is rather low on details, so we're not entirely sure what this new 1.4GB firmware update brings to the table. Evidently, we're hoping that it will do away with some of the problems that have marred the Galaxy S22 experience for early adopters. Some of the more pressing issues include GPS inaccuracy and low performance/stability in One UI 4.1 and apps.
You can download the new firmware on the Galaxy S22 via the Settings app on the phone by accessing “About phone” and the “Software update” section, or you can download the firmware files from our website and install the update manually using the official Samsung Odin tool.
