Samsung has started rolling out the March 2022 security update to the carrier-locked model of the Galaxy A70 in the US. The international version of the mid-range smartphone hasn't received the update yet, but we expect that to happen soon.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A70 (SM-A705U) has been released on Comcast's network in the US. The new software bears firmware version A705USQS2DVC1 and includes the March 2022 security patch. According to Samsung's documentation, the new security patch fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities. It might also include bug fixes and device stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy A70 user in the US, you can check for the new OTA software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A70 in early 2019 with Android 9 Pie-based One UI software. It received the Android 10-based One UI 2 update in 2020 and the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in 2021. It is currently on the biannual security update schedule.
