Do you own Samsung's latest flagship tablet? You might want to keep an eye out for a new firmware update. The company has started rolling out a new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra update today that brings the latest security patch for the month of May 2022.
Samsung hasn't actually detailed the security patch for next month as yet. However, it's already rolling it out to compatible devices. This isn't surprising as Samsung has become significantly faster at sending out security patches now.
Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra picks up the latest security patch
Samsung has released firmware version X900XXU2AVD6 for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. It comes in at around 505 MB and the changelog clearly mentions that it includes the May 2022 security patch.
The changelog is a little light on the details but does mention that the overall device stability and security have been improved. This is standard language that we've come to expect from monthly security updates. It does mention that the Pen Up, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health and Calculator apps will be updated to the latest versions after this firmware update is applied.
Samsung has already started sending out the May 2022 security update to compatible devices. The Galaxy S22 series was actually the first to receive it. With the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra picking it up as well, it's only a matter of time before more devices get this update as well.
