Samsung is slowly expanding the release of its May 2022 security update to more Galaxy smartphones. After the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and the Galaxy Tab S8, the new security update has been released to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US.
The latest software update for Galaxy Z Flip 3 (SM-F711U1) comes with firmware version F711U1TBS2CVD4. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 (SM-F926U1) is getting the new update with firmware version F926U1UES1CVD4. The updates are now available for carrier-unlocked models of these foldable phones on almost all US carrier networks.
The May 2022 security update fixes dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities. As usual, the new updates might also bring general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Galaxy Z Fold 3 user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can download the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the second half of 2021 with Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1. The phones received the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update earlier this year and the One UI 4.1 update a few weeks ago.
