Samsung has released the May 2022 security update to its first-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip. The two smartphones have started getting the update in Latin American markets. Other markets could get the update within the next few weeks.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Flip comes with firmware version F700FXXS8GVD8. For the Galaxy Fold, the new update comes with firmware version F900FXXS6HVD1. The May 2022 security patch included in the latest updates fixes dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities.
The updates are rolling out in Brazil, Colombia, and Panama for the Galaxy Fold. The Galaxy Z Flip is getting the update in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay.
If you are a Galaxy Fold or Galaxy Z Flip user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download and install the latest security update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
