Samsung's next-generation foldable phones—Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4—are expected to go official in the third quarter of this year. Various aspects of the upcoming devices have been leaked ahead of their launch. Now, another piece of information about the Galaxy Z Fold 4's display has been revealed.
According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy Z Fold 4's foldable screen will have a less prominent crease than the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It is also being claimed that the foldable display is now smoother than last year's Galaxy Z Fold 3. If this is true, Samsung is slowly working on reducing the crease, which worries some users. Maybe the South Korean firm has improved the hinge design and the strength of the foldable screen's protection layer.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is rumored to feature slightly shorter and wider OLED displays, improving the typing experience on the cover display. The phone is also said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It features the recently-announced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor for faster performance and higher power efficiency.
Going by the leaked 3D CAD renders of the phone, it will have a camera layout similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It reportedly features a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It is unclear if Samsung has improved the under-display selfie camera's quality with the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The smartphone will run Android 12 out of the box. Similar to other high-end phones from Samsung, it could come with a promise of four major Android OS updates. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, an IPX8 rating, S Pen compatibility, stereo speakers, a 4,400mAh battery, 25W fast charging, and wireless charging.
