Samsung and BTS got together again and released a new video over the weekend to commemorate Environment Day. The video is accompanied by the iconic Over the Horizon soundtrack. Or specifically, the version of Over the Horizon produced by BTS' SUGA for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 last year.
The new video is meant to raise awareness for Environment Day. It has members of the K-Pop band holding signs with powerful messages such as “The oceans are drowning in plastic,” “Recycle plastic from the ocean,” and “Rethink the life of a product.”
The video jives with Samsung's “Galaxy for the Planet” initiative. The slogans — or at least one of them — remind us that Samsung is recycling plastic from the ocean to manufacture smaller smartphone and tablet components, like the backside of physical buttons (side key and volume) and other non-critical internal pieces.
These recycled materials have made it out of the ocean and back into the economy through commercial products like the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy Tab S8, and the Galaxy Book 2 Pro series.
As a side note, the fact that Samsung and BTS have teamed up once again could suggest that these two entities will hopefully get together to promote Samsung's upcoming Galaxy foldable devices later this year. It could massively boost the influence Samsung foldables have over the mobile market.
Samsung hasn't said anything on the matter yet, so only time will tell if BTS will be present at the next major Unpacked event. Until we find out more, feel free to check out the new Galaxy for the Planet video below.
