The 5G variant of the Galaxy A23 keeps dodging the market four months after the launch of the LTE model. Nevertheless, the device keeps coming back in the headlines month after month, and we recently got another reminder that Samsung hasn't forgotten about the Galaxy A23 5G.
The low-cost 5G phone has just paid a visit to the FCC, which should be a clear indicator that Samsung is working on bringing it to the market and hasn't abandoned this device.
The Galaxy A23 5G is identified by model number SM-A236E. Other variants were also spotted, including SM-A236M and SM-A236B. The phone has dual-SIM capabilities, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. (via MySmartPrice)
Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy A23 5G in key markets
Although the FCC has yet to list the Galaxy A23 5G with USA-specific model numbers, early evidence suggests that the Galaxy A23 5G should be released in several key markets. And that includes Europe as well as the United States.
The USA model was spotted in an online benchmark last month. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with eight CPU cores (8+2) and an Adreno 619 graphics chip.
The Galaxy A23 5G should share a few hardware components with the LTE variant, and FCC schematics reveal a quad-camera setup. It might be based on the same 50MP primary shooter as we've seen on the LTE model.
We're not sure when Samsung will release the Galaxy A23 5G, but everyone's attention is focused on the upcoming August 10 Unpacked event for foldable phones. We're guessing that the Galaxy A23 5G will hit the shelves without much fanfare, so stay tuned, and we'll keep you posted.
