It's been about a month since Samsung launched the One UI 5.0 beta program. As expected, the beta firmware was first made available for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Since then, the company has released two beta firmware for the devices. It has also expanded the program to the Galaxy S21 series.
The beta program is progressing nicely and Samsung is on track to release a new beta firmware for the Galaxy S22 series next week. This would be the first One UI 5.0 beta for these flagship smartphones.
Third Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta release coming soon
Samsung has revealed through its Members app that Galaxy S22 owners who are enrolled in the One UI 5.0 beta program will receive a new beta firmware next week. A precise date hasn't been provided, though.
While the company's notice in the Members app doesn't mention it, the third One UI 5.0 beta release will likely carry firmware version S90xBXXU2ZVI2. It goes without saying that the latest beta firmware will bring some fixes and improvements for the software.
It's unclear whether any new features will be included with this release. One UI 5.0 and Android 13 aren't that feature-heavy to begin with. The latest update will likely include bug fixes and further optimizations to ensure that the software works well ahead of the public release.
Samsung hasn't confirmed at this stage when it's planning to release One UI 5.0 to the public. Earlier reports have suggested that it may happen in the third week of October. We've exclusively reported in the past that Samsung is aiming for an October One UI 5.0 release.
