Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S21 FE get updated with September 2022 security patch

Samsung is rolling out the September 2022 security update to two more affordable high-end smartphones. The Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy S21 FE have started getting the new security patch in some European countries. Other regions could also get the update within the next few days.

The new software update for the Galaxy S10 Lite carries firmware version G770FXXU6GVH6 and is rolling out in Spain. The Galaxy S21 FE is getting the new software with firmware version G990BXXU2CVH7 in Europe. The September 2022 security patch includes fixes for over two dozen privacy and security vulnerabilities.

The update might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. If you are a Galaxy S10 Lite or Galaxy S21 FE user in Europe, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 Lite in early 2020 with Android 10 onboard. It received the Android 11 update in 2021 and the Android 12 update earlier this year. The Galaxy S21 FE debuted earlier this year with Android 12 onboard, and it will get at least three major Android OS updates in the future.
