Samsung's new high-resolution monitor for content creators and professionals, the ViewFinity S8, was announced three months ago. Back then, the company had announced its availability and pricing for the South Korean market. Now, the monitor is available in the US with a starting price tag of $650.
The 27-inch version of the monitor costs $650, while the 32-inch version is priced at $750. You can buy the ViewFinity S8 monitor directly from Samsung's website, but we also expect it to be available through other retailers in the near future.
ViewFinity S8 monitor features
The ViewFinity S8 monitor comes in 27-inch (LS27B) and 32-inch sizes (LS32B). It uses an IPS LCD panel with 4K resolution to offer a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and 5ms gray-to-gray response time. The 27-inch version carries DisplayHDR 400 certification, while the 32-inch version has DisplayHDR 600 certification. They can display 1.07 billion colors and HDR10+ content.
These two monitors carry a UL certification for their anti-glare performance. They are color-accurate, too, as verified by their PANTONE Validated and PANTONE SkinTone Validated certifications. Samsung says that its new monitors offer a flicker-free performance and reduce the amount of blue light emitted from the panel for safer eyes.
Samsung's ViewFinity S8 monitor lineup features one HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort, one Ethernet port, one USB 3.0 Type-C port, and a USB 3.0 hub with three downstream Type-A ports. The Type-C port offers up to 90W of USB PD power for charging laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
The monitor has a height-adjustable stand that can also pivot, swivel, and tilt. It has a VESA 100×100 monitor mount for using third-party monitor arms and stands.
