Galaxy A23 5G owners in Europe can now download a new security update. This update brings the May 2024 security patch to the mid-range A series phone.
The rollout started on June 24, so most users in Europe should be able to download the update—identifiable by the build number A236BXXS6EXE2—right away.
To do that, they can go into the Settings » Software update menu on their Galaxy A23 5G and select the Download and install option. Or, they can download the latest Galaxy A23 5G firmware from our archive and upgrade using a Windows PC.
This is the Galaxy A23 5G's second update after One UI 6.1
The Galaxy A23 and Galaxy A23 5G were updated to One UI 6.1 last month, and while the LTE variant hasn't received an update since then, this is the second post-One UI 6.1 update for the 5G variant.
The May 2024 update was released for the Galaxy A23 5G in some other regions almost three weeks back. We can expect it to arrive on the regular Galaxy A23 soon.
This update only enhances the phone's security. The May 2024 security patch includes fixes for 33 security vulnerabilities discovered in all Android devices and 25 vulnerabilities that put only Galaxy devices at risk.
