We rarely see Samsung excited about promoting an Apple feature, but believe it or not, the worlds of Samsung and Apple sometimes collide to the benefit of the users. This kind of rare event was exemplified perfectly by a recent development in Samsung Electronics' range of Hospitality TVs.Summarize in one-click with Galaxy AI
First, what are Samsung Hospitality TVs? In short, they are TVs designed by Samsung specifically for businesses, particularly for hotels. They boast unique features for remote management, such as LYNK Cloud and SmartThings Pro.
More to the point at hand, today, Samsung proudly announced that its Hospitality TVs now offer compatibility with Apple's AirPlay standard.
Thanks to this change, iPhone and iPad users can easily and securely connect their mobile devices to the TVs in their hotel rooms and gain access to their personal content, playlists, mobile games, favorite streaming services, and so on.
Scan the on-screen QR code and enjoy your entertainment
Samsung tried to make the process easy and extremely secure. And the way it works is that hotel guests that have Samsung Hospitality TVs in their rooms can connect their iOS and iPadOS devices to said TVs by scanning a unique on-screen QR code.
This process is fast and secure. Samsung says that the TVs don't store or save any personal information. Once guests check out, paired devices are automatically erased.
As for hotel managers and operators, Samsung says they can update their management systems with ease to enable AirPlay. Meanwhile, LYNK Cloud lets them customize content and OTT access remotely.
In addition, SmartThings Pro is an enterprise version of the consumer-grade SmartThings platform for IoT device management. The system lets hotel managers connect and control their Samsung smart devices, from TVs and smart signages to air conditioners throughout their hotels.
