The One UI 6.1 update for the low-cost Galaxy A25 debuted in the USA and Korea last week. This week, the same update, complete with the May 2024 Security Patch, started reaching the Galaxy A25 (SM-A256B) in Europe.
Predictably, the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A25 in Europe carries firmware version A256BXXU4BXE3. It's the same as before, save for the “B” letter denoting the international / European Galaxy A25 variant.
Even more predictable is that the Galaxy A25 doesn't get Galaxy AI through the One UI 6.1 update. The hardware isn't powerful enough to leverage the power of Advanced Intelligence. Thankfully, the changelog is vast and mentions upgrades such as (but not limited to):
- Improved Gallery Search
- Copy and paste from one image to another
- New wallpaper options
- More lock screen widgets
- More customizable alarms
- More Calendar stickers and revamped Calendar settings
- Extra routine conditions
- Location sharing with Samsung Find
- Samsung Health improvements
- Improved battery Protect
The Galaxy A25 5G was one of the most shipped smartphones in Europe in Q1 2024, topping nearly 1 million units. There will be plenty of users who will want to upgrade to One UI 6.1.
You can do that on your phone by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” If you need to install the update manually using a PC, you can also grab the firmware files from our database once they are available.
