The Galaxy A55 is on a monthly security update schedule, which means that it should get one security update every month. However, Samsung has been having trouble releasing security updates to the smartphone on time.
Samsung rolled out the April 2024 security patch to the Galaxy A55 towards the end of April, which is quite late for a brand-new premium mid-range smartphone. The company released the May 2024 security patch to the phone almost a month late. Unfortunately, the June 2024 security patch is also arriving late to the device.
While the brand released this month’s security update to the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A54 almost a week ago, the tech giant is rolling it out to the Galaxy A55 just now, with only two days remaining for the month to end.

Currently, Samsung is rolling out the June 2024 security patch to the variant of the Galaxy A55 that it sells in Europe. It carries the model number SM-A556B. The software update that brings the latest security update to the smartphone changes the device’s firmware version to A556BXXS3AXF2.
The June 2024 security patch fixes 59 security issues. You can get it by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the firmware from our database and install it manually using Odin.
Why is Galaxy A55 getting security updates late?
So, why is Samsung releasing security updates to the Galaxy A55 late? Well, it most likely has to do with seamless updates. The Galaxy A55 is Samsung’s first smartphone to support seamless updates. The phone can install these types of updates in the background while you use the device, without restarting itself or locking you out of the phone during the installation process.
While that sounds great, the company seems to be having a hard time developing seamless updates, which is why the brand is rolling out security updates to the smartphone late.
