Samsung announced its new foldable phones, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, at its recent Galaxy Unpacked event. Both phones have thinner and lighter designs, foldable screens with a less visible crease, a faster processor, and longer battery life. However, they still use the same reliable fingerprint readers seen on previous Galaxy Z phones.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 have side-mounted fingerprint readers, similar to previous-generation Galaxy Z series phones. We can confirm that these capacitive fingerprint readers are made by the Chinese firm Goodix. The fingerprint readers are wicked fast, reliable, and secure.
You can just pick up these phones while placing your finger on the power button, and the phones will be ready and unlocked by the time you are ready to use them.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 use Super AMOLED screens with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and HDR10+. They also feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen For Galaxy processor, 12GB RAM, and 256GB/512GB storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 also comes in a 1TB variant.
Both phones have a 10MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 also has a 4MP under-display camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4,400mAh battery. Both phones have 25W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. They both run One UI 6.1.1 (Android 14) out of the box.
