Google made the cover screen on its Z Flip series phone a lot more usable with the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The 3.4-inch cover screen can display several widgets and even some apps, but it didn't support Google Wallet. That seems to have changed now, as the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 can now run the app on their cover screen.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 now support Google Wallet on the cover screen
It seems that you can now run the Google Wallet app on Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 cover screens. But it isn't supported natively. You have to install Good Lock and its MultiStar module. Then, you need to add the MultiStar widget to the cover screen and add the Google Wallet app to it.
Earlier, even if you added Google Wallet to the MultiStar widget on the Galaxy Z Flip 5's cover screen, the app wouldn't run. It displayed the ‘open the phone to continue' message. However, that seems to have changed now. It isn't clear when this change happened. It could be an update to the Google Wallet app, Good Lock/MultiStar, or the One UI 6.1 update.

Since Galaxy Z Flip 4 or older phones have much smaller screens, running the app on their cover screens is impossible.
Samsung has added four new apps and four new widgets to the cover screen with One UI 6.1.1. Those apps include Facebook, Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Messages. Support for Microsoft's Outlook app will reportedly be added soon. The new widgets include Samsung Health, Samsung News, SmartThings, and Reminders.
