Galaxy A52, A52s, A53, and A54 owners who have hoped to upgrade to Samsung's new Galaxy A55 in the past few months have gotten the short end of the stick. But perhaps they weren't as unlucky as existing Galaxy A55 users.
Those who upgraded from an older Galaxy A model to the A55 risked getting a phone with fingerprint scanner issues. They have plagued the phone for the past few months.
On the other hand, Galaxy A52-to-A53 owners who haven't upgraded to the A55 out of fear of these fingerprint scanner-related issues had few other options other than to wait for Samsung to address the problem.

Samsung rolled out the July update for the Galaxy A55 at the beginning of the month. And judging by all the information we have gathered with the help of our friends at GalaxyClub, this is the one update that gets everything back on track.

Every Galaxy A55 user who has received the July 2024 update and provided feedback through our colleagues had nothing but good things to say about the new firmware.
We kept our eyes peeled over the past few days, and it looks like the fingerprint-scanning issues have finally been dealt with. Not only that, but some Galaxy A55 users even say they've experienced small improvements in battery life. We're not sure how accurate that claim is, but it's a good sign. Things could've been the other way around.

Samsung appears to have straightened up the Galaxy A55, and your wait is finally over. Now seems to be the best time to upgrade your old(er) Galaxy A52, A52s, A53, or A54 to the latest Galaxy A55 model and enjoy all its benefits.
