Apple managed to come in at the second position with a market share of 16%. That means the difference between Samsung and Apple is now just two percentage points. In comparison, the difference in the market share of the two companies was four percentage points in Q2 2023, with Samsung in the lead.
Galaxy AI helped Samsung sell more number of premium phones
According to Canalys, Samsung and Apple beat everyone in the premium smartphone market and most of that has to do with AI (Galaxy AI and Apple Intelligence). So, it looks like Samsung made a safe bet to enhance Galaxy AI even further with One UI 6.1.1.
Xiaomi, Vivo, and Transsion came in third, fourth, and fifth, with a market share of 15%, 9%, and 9% respectively.
The research firm’s data shows that all the brands sold 288 million smartphones in total between April 2024 and June 2024. That’s 12% more compared to the last quarter. It also marks the third consecutive quarter where the mobile market grew. So, that’s not only a positive sign for Samsung but for all the other brands.
